OptoSci Ltd, established in 1994, is a leading producer of innovative optoelectronic systems, components and
instrumentation for the international education, research, industrial and environmental markets. Current products
and activities include:
- Photonics Educator Kits - comprehensive and fully self-contained laboratory based educational kits for universities,
colleges and education centres teaching physical optics, optical waveguiding, fibre optic communications, BER,
WDM, Bragg Gratings, EDFA, lasers, OTDR and optical networks.
- Photonics Instruments - specialist design and manufacture of a range of high specification standard, custom
& OEM photonics instrumentation for test, measurement, production and research applications (i.e. laser drivers,
TEC controllers, photoreceivers, EDFAs, ASE Sources, signal processing systems, etc.).
- OptoSniff - a distributed Tuneable Diode Laser Spectroscopy (TDLS) based gas sensing system for continuous
multipoint monitoring of methane, carbon dioxide and other gases in landfill sites, mines, oil and gas installations,
industrial measurement systems, etc.
- Optoelectronic Research - ongoing internal and collaborative applied research programmes to develop innovative
optical sensing and control systems for other industrial monitoring, measurement, alarm and control applications.
